Question FMJ Legal in carry weapon?

Ok had an event with an off-duty LEO, Among other misinformation he spouted, Like " OPEN CARRY IS ILLEGAL" ( OK even that one got a chuckle) He specifically stated to me that FMJ were ILLEGAL in your carry weapon. I asked him to produce the statute. " IT IS THERE I DON'T REMEMBER THE NUMBER". I have searched high and low and cannot find anything. Never mind the obvious about how smart it is to use fmj for other than targets. Can anyone shed light on what he is saying? (YES This just happend less than an hour ago)

i think it is right next to the statute that says you have to conceal if you have a license to carry...

The only light I can shed is I have never come across a statute that says fmj is illegal in a carry weapon. I do know certain specific ammo is illegal for civilians to own. Some of the ammo for the FN Five Seven comes to mind.
    Some people just plain suck.

    Lol..... Cops

Should've asked him if he always target practices with JHP...

Otherwise, he's been breaking the law

My EDC ammo contains some fmj. Can you be 100% sure you'll never have to shoot through cover? I can't be that sure.

You should tell that cop that this is PA , NOT NJ.... and you can carry anything in guns that you want... FMJ, JHP or any mixture of them you want....

Can't really prove the negative on this, since there's no statute to point to expressly saying FMJ for carry is legal, but as others have said it's not illegal.
I am not a lawyer. Nothing I say or write is legal advice.
