This is my first deer rifle (I've owned rifles but they weren't really for deer specifically). This cost me $350. I got the mount and rings for free and took the scope off of my SAM-R. I shoot machined brass bullets through it. It's chambered in 243 Winchester.

Does anyone have anything good to say about Remi 700 VTR? The one with triangular barrel.

    I guess I haven't posted this one.

Rem700 built by wolfprecision. Barrel is m24 contour bartlein cut to 18.5", badger fte brake, mckree folding stock, badger rail with 34mm rings, Premier Reticles scope, badger magazines, tis sling, "m16" extractor, some aftermarket bolt handle and knob but I forget what he put on it. I wanted something "compact" but still capable of going to 1K. Also didn't want it to be too unweildy with a can.

With the stock folded it's just as long as a 14.5" m4.

Now I'll ship off my old one for a rebuild and shoot this until i get it back.

I don't have any 223 bolt action in my safe so this one is a "first rifle of the next year".
