Quinby's in Dublin for repair work?
I know they're a good shop with good prices and people. Plus they occasionally get some more unique items in. Anyone used them for repairs? Since they are about exactly halfway between work and home, I am seriously considering asking them about fixing the canted sight on my AK.

A friend of mine is a big fan of Quinbys so I'll ask him about their repairs.

They have a couple of good guys that do their smith work. I've only had a few minor things done by them but they were perfect and fair.
I am a big fan of the shop. I stopped yesterday and got a scope, rings for my 10-22 and some .22 and some .556. They didn't have a lot of ammo but they had a little of everything and people weren't standing in lines to buy it.
My gut says if they take the job they'll do it right.

Ask for Adam (Quinby). Any of the guys there can help you but he's the guy I deal with when I need some work done.

Re: Quinby's in Dublin for repair work?
Well, no such luck. The guy I talked to looked it over and did a little keyboard research finding that there is a few pins holding on the front assembly. Those can be punched out allowing adjustment. But, he's never done one nor do they have a jig or anything. Even though I was a little bummed, more than that I appreciated his honesty. He suggested Donley's who I also know does good work. I'll run up there tomorrow morning and see what they have to say.

That's my experience. They won't take a job if they can't do it well.
Try Sean at CDI in the members list and you can PM him. He is in Chalfont and many members here use him and say he is a wizard. I believe his phone number is 215-996-1603.
You can read more about him in the gunsmith thread.
