    Default Drinking

Are people allowed get drunk, and still CC, and OC?

I'm surprised there's no thread about this.

On one side it seems like common sense to not use firearms while impaired; however, on the other impairment subjects you to criminal selection so there's the always preparedness factor.

Update: a forum search lead no where, but a google search lead me to this:

    IANAL:

Nothing prohibits you form carrying in a pub or bar. Unless the owner has signs up saying no firearms. If you are grabbing a beer I see no real issue. otherwise it would make more sense that if you know you are going to be getting drunk to leave it at home.

I have gotten drunk while I carried my gun. There is no law against it. I don't drink that often and I usually drink at home. I have been drunk in a bar with my gun one time if I remember correctly.
    Some people just plain suck.

Why do you feel this way? Do you not trust yourself or are you worried about the possible legal ramifications if you have to use your gun in sd while drunk?

One of the downsides to being drunk is impaired judgement.... Now, while Impaired judgement is handy for racking up your list of fat chicks you banged, not so good when making life changing choices with a firearm.

So it seems you may not trust yourself when drunk. Whatever floats your boat. I have no problem with anyone's decision on wether to carry or not. I was just curious about why the person I quoted felt the way he did.
