Default Transferring Individual NFA into an NFA Trust

I already have some NFA items now that I filed under as an individual. But recently I wanted to get another suppressor and was considering an NFA Trust. But I would hate to spend $500+ to get a lawyer to draw up a trust for only 1 NFA item.

Could I transfer my "individual" NFA items into the trust without having to pay another $200? Will I have to transfer it to a C3 dealer and then transfer it into the trust?

You can Transfer the NFA items that are registered to you as an "Individual" to the new "Trust", but you will have to pay the $200 tax for each item that you want to Transfer over to your new Trust.

Keep in mind that when a NFA item is listed on a Form 4 and you want to move or sell the item, even to a dealer, it will have to Transfer on another tax paid Form 4.

The only freebie is a tax free Form 5 Transfer to a legal heir.

Would I have to transfer my items through a C3 dealer then to my trust? Or can I transfer directly from individual to trust

The only time a dealer is involved is when you buy from them or buy something NFA out of state.
So to answer your question, no dealer needed, just transfer them from your person to your trust via Form 4 and another $200 tax.
