Fatal shooting in Westmoreland
Police Investigate Fatal Sportsman Club Shooting
No Word On Victim's Identity

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Police in Westmoreland County are investigating a fatal shooting at a sportsman club.
The accident happened at the Vandergrift Sportsman's Association in Washington Township.
Officials said the victim was shot in the head.
There is no word on how the shooting happened or the victim's identity.

It looks like they are now confirming that the shooting was a suicide.

This is unfortunate but I have have read somewhere in the past that this type of suicide is not all that uncommon.

As my memory serves me, 3 or 4 months ago, a man took his own life at the indoor shooting range operated by Ray's Sport Shop in Plainfield, NJ. Unfortunately, this is very sad for both the victim & his family as well as the owners, operators and patrons of established small arms ranges both public and private.
