PA PICS denial
Anyone else getting refused for no good reason? I have a clean record, and am not wanted for anything, just got a denial on a rifle purchase. I have sent in the Challenge form, which they are supposed to respond to in 5 days, we will see!
Disgusted here

Re: PA PICS denial
seems a couple people a month come around here saying they got denied. You could have the same name as a felon, or maybe someone gave a fake ss when being arrested and happened to give yours by pure coincidence, ect ect. There's a few reasons it happens, but hopefully it works out quick for you. Have you purchased in the past?

Re: PA PICS denial
I am almost 60 years old and I have purchased several over the span of 40 years, all with the same legal history I have had since then.

Re: PA PICS denial
"Preventing crime" with tidbits of information is more important than allowing you to take ownership of arms.

Re: PA PICS denial
I was denied in 2001 even tho I had and still have a valid CC permit, sent in my challenge documentation and got my reversal letter in about 30-40 days and haven't had a problem since. I never found out why I was denied.

Re: PA PICS denial
Its not all that uncommon for the Gov't (espeically local police) to attach stuff (especially old stuff) to the wrong people. IF you have a name like someone else you can easily get it attached to you
My wife had a warrant issued for her arrest for an unpaid parking ticket from 20+ years ago. She never lived in the area, never owned the car it was on but took hours on the phone and lots of different phone calls before they would finally remove it.
Apparently they were converting OLD records over to the computer systems and managed to select the wrong person from the search or something like that. "haha oops sorry for the confusion and all the mental anguish we just put you through along with the hours of missed work and phone charges, have a good day and in the future pay your parking tickets"
Guilty until proven innocent
