    Default Oaks Gun Show

Went today. Much smaller crowd than in February.

Saw some Bushmasters starting around $700, and other AR's in the 800-900 range. Cheapest AK 47 was a WASR for 699. But still lots of AR's in the 1500-2500 range and AK's mostly around 1000-1200. Still too rich for me.

Cheapest SKS was a Yugo for something like $450.

Most handguns still seem like $100 or more above normal.

I wonder about these vendors' prices. There did not seem to be much gun buying that I saw.

Most ammo still ridiculous, but 7.62 x39 was 279/1000, saw a few boxes of Remington FMJ 9mm for $22/50, but also some Tula steel case 9mm for 26/50 (nuts). 45 ACP around 35/50.

Glad I didn't drive all the way to pay higher prices than I do locally!! What's the point of even going to gun shows anymore.. Come and get your already marked-up ammo for even more than usual! Hopefully they had some good deals on beef jerky to make the trip worth it..

Free samples of the beef jerky! To rationalize the trip I just bought two ammo cans.

But you're right. I don't think I'm going to go to any more. The only benefit is it's one place to see a lot of different things, but not a place to buy.

There was a period about a year and a half ago that I was getting ammo at gun shows for just under the cheapest online case prices. And everything was available, including 9mm 158 grain subsonic, you name it.

Well that went all to hell.

Prices were better than at the last show. I am hoping this is a sign that things are lightening up.

Anyone see the BAR for $28,000?

Man, I've got to win the lottery. I've tried the working thing for 30 years, I'm ready to try something else.

I noticed the prices were still high as well, but I did notice lots of AR's and AK's which shows the rush on them is over. Mags for said rifles are also coming back down to the 19 or 20 dollar price range.

I would agree that ammo prices are still too high, but I think the prices will come down on that too in the near future. There were some deals to be had if you searched, but not too much.

Also noticed the guys with the higher priced stuff were simply not doing any business, so the market will end up self-correcting once they figure out they aren't selling anything while the booth next to them is running out. I believe that if you haven't sold your 1500 dollar AR's by now, you aren't going to sell them.

With AK prices what they ere, I was tempted to pick one up, but my wife would have killed me for buying another rifle.
