Back in Pittsburgh
Hey all, I just got out of the army and moved back to Pittsburgh from Texas. Good to be home, but I miss shooting (I honestly hated doing it that often while I was in the military).
The club I used to be a member of way back in 2008, Coraopolis Sportsman's Association, has its membership closed for new members. Also there's a wait list for 2014. Seems like too long of a wait for me right now.
Anyone have any suggestions for where's a decent place to shoot? I have always heard that PMSC is the best place around. I unfortunately do not know anyone that is a member there. Actually, I don't know too many people around anymore. I'm located in Carnegie, but driving is not a problem.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or help.

Re: Back in Pittsburgh
I'm a PMSC member. There's a crapload of us here who are.
Here's the thread with info on the next group shoot.

If you'd like to see the club, I could give you a tour.
If you'd like to go shoot, it's $5 for the guest fee.
I work in lawn care, so my weekdays are busy, and sometimes Saturdays, but Sundays are more open with advance notice.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Back in Pittsburgh
If you would rather travel North than East you can check out North Side Sportsmen's Association in Warrendale (http://www.nssa.ws/). Don't worry about sponsorship, someone there will sign for you. We have been getting around 40 new members every month. If you want to join, just show up at 6:30 on the first Tuesday of the month to go through new member orientation and fill out your new membership forms and pay your dues. The board meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month and votes on the new members. You should get your gate/member card shortly after that.

PMSC is great. It seems kinda of lame the club would not make an exception for dropping your membership while in the .mil

Re: Back in Pittsburgh
There is a club in collier that is close by but they have a bar on sight which causes some pause for alarm. A feww years ago one of the range officers was a big dick because I brought my dad who was not a member, on a bit of a power trip. Plus it kinda small
There is the Dormont Mt. Lebonon club in Mcmurray that is fantastic but there is a bit of a process for new members. Work days/shooting events/mandatory meetings.

Not 100% sure, but there was some sort of deal for them... My ex-s Son got in that waySkeet is a sport where you are better to hit half of each bird then completely blast one and miss the other completely.
