Default I don't mind being called bitter.

    In response to obama's speech

And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
This is what I heard, and what offends me.

And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to Their Second Amendment rights or First Amendment Rights or Racist to people who aren't like them ."
I honestly was shocked when I heard that speech. I felt extremely relieved when other people caught it as well.

Did any of you hear the same thing I heard?

    I completely agree.

The MSM tried to play this off that us 'folk are angry about being called bitter. Frankly, I think a lot of us are bitter but we're not bitter at the economy, we're bitter at them trying to sheiste our guns and sovereignty away.

What I found offense and I think most people found offensive (and what the MSM ignored) is that he'd expect us NOT to be bitter at them trying to strip our rights away. Why wouldn't any American be bitter at managed trade agreements like NAFTA? Why wouldn't Americans be pissed off that asshole Socialists are trying to take their rights away?

I am appalled at the insinuation that these sentiments aren't normal.

Bah, it's just like almost everything he spews. Talks a lot and says nothing. It doesn't even make sense. So, I'm bitter about some situation, then buy a gun and have fun shooting it? Huh?

A discussion about this came up at lunch last night at work. One of the older gentlemen at the table says... (and I am only quoting him here because of the shock value) "If he thinks guns are bad, maybe we should show him what our forefathers used rope for..." Then he went back to eating his sandwich like it was just an every day thing to say...

I damn near shot Spaghetti-Os out my nose...

I wouldn't say I'm shocked, but I'd never break bread with that person again.

I rarely talk to people at my break table, I just sort of listen and muddle through my work day. With all the PC crap at work, it's kind of rare to hear such talk.

I almost asked if he was clinging to his racist attitude because "HE" was different than the guy. I thought that'd just stir the pot, so I left it alone.

Im not racist at all, I couldn't care what color a person is
I think the saying is "we the people" not "we the white people"

I have a fundamental problem with people who pose a threat to the constitution. Much of America does not appreciate the blood that was spilled so we could have this great country to ourselves, free from outside rule.

When someone starts to tell me how to live my life, that's where I draw the line.

It's sad that so many people before us have given up so much in the name of safety and security. It's going to make standing up now so much harder.

Hope that everyone makes it to the polls next week for the primary, every bit counts. Im still voting for ron paul while I have the choice, I wont willingly vote for someone I have issues with for the sake of swinging the vote.

Im just appalled at some of the things coming out in this election, none of it is becoming of someone who wants to lead this country into the next decade.

I am beginning to think that the only racist in the race is Obama himself. He belittles the LITTLE man for feeling afraid for his safety, afraid of the economy, afraid for the rights that keep getting taken away for the benefit of the MINORITY...

We have people that dont believe in God... so we cant pray anymore...
people afraid of the economy... so we dont enjoy life like we should
people afraid for their safety... so we buy guns to protect our families and ourself.. and they want to take it away from us.

Must be nice to have a government job ... safe, secure, and well paid for doing chit...

And they wonder why we are bitter.....
