May Couple's Match at LRGC
It's time again for our annual Couples Match at LRGC. The match will be held on Saturday May 25th 2013 at the Langhorne Rod and Gun Club 251 Stoneyford Road. We are moving our report time to 9:00am with match beginning at 9:30. We are giving registration preference to Couples followed by single female shooters. If you are a single male shooter, you can still sign-up and we'll try to pair you with a single female shooter. Below please find some frequently asked questions about the match:
1. I would like to bring my significant other but we only have one rifle. Should I still sign up? Yes by all means. Each couple will only need one rifle. You will shoot one at a time so you can easily share the rifle.
2. My significant other has never shot before would this match be appropriate for first timers? Yes! We gear the match to beginning/first time shooters. We have a special private safety briefing for first timers.
3. I am a single female shooter and would like to participate but have no rifle. Should I still sign up? Yes we will pair you with a single male shooter who is willing to share his rifle. You will be responsible for your ammo.
4.We each have our own rifle can we bring both? Yes by all means! Just be sure each rifle has a sling and a chamber flag.
Once again we will be featuring a wonderful brunch after the match prepared by our very own Chef Lauren. This will be her last Practical Rifle offering before heading of to compete in the National Culinary Arts Championships in Kansas City. On behalf of all of us in the Practical Rifle program, we wish her good luck!
Each shooter will need the following:
1. Eye protection---(please note designer sunglasses do not count. Eyes don't grow back)
2. Ear protection
3. A good safe attitude
4. 40 rounds of ammunition for each person
5. Suitable range attire---(we strongly suggest a collared shirt for our female shooters. Hot brass is not fun..enuff said)
Each couple will need:
1. At least one functioning magazine fed center fire semi-automatic rifle.
2. At least four functional magazines- (the more mags you bring the less you reload)
3. A sling for your rifle
4. A chamber flag for your rifle
We suggest you bring:
Boots as conditions can be damp and muddy.
Knee pads
A shooting mat or tarp for prone shooting
A collared shirt and hat for female shooters
Your appetite for our brunch
The winning couple will earn his/hers Championship shirts.
This match sells out very quickly. As always we will open the sign-up link on May 10th at 9:00am. Here is the link: May Couples Match Sign Up Link

Only two slots remain. This is a perfect match for the wife/significant or single female shooter who wants to learn more about the sport.
