Default Norristown Police Officer shoots self in leg

Apparently a Norristown Police officer shot himself in the leg today in Conshohocken. Hopefully this doesn't end with a bunch of "already posted" messages as I did search first and it only happened 30 minutes ago.

It may be splitting hairs, but I wonder if this took place at a training exercise or at qualification. The two aren't the same and not every agency that has qualification also has training. Agencies that have employees whose only trigger time is to fire 75 rounds at annual qualification are, IMO, more likely to have incidents like this.
The first one to use the word "sheeple" automatically loses the argument.

    Ouch is right.

I bet a few curse words were shouted immediately after the bang.

But the police are the only people qualified to handle guns! I saw it on the news! How could this happen!?

It's definitely splitting hairs, but until we know how or why the gun went off, you got the word usage correct.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Must have been one of those rabid civilian guns that every so often gets mixed in with the well-behaved police/military-usage-only guns.

We all know civilian guns jump out of their holsters and bark on the best of days. Mass murders happen on the worst of days. That cop was lucky his gun didn't fly out and murder everyone there.

Joking aside, sucks. Keep fingers where they should be I guess.

    Airlifted? Good for him!

Now if this was part of the 75 round qualification, the real question is does taking around to the leg still count as part of the 75 rounds?
