    Default Wilson Mag Question

Anyone know if it is possible to replace the plastic follower in a Wilson Combat 47D mag with a Chip McCormick +P follower and spring and still have it function properly? These plastic followers are getting chewed up shooting IDPA all the time and they fail to lock back the slide after a while. I want to switch over to a metal follower and like my CM +P 10 round mags but don't want to go out and buy a bunch of new 8 rounders if I can salvage the tubes.

Have you called Wilsom Combat and explained to them what you explained in the post. They seem to take pride in their products and will probably make it better.

If your dead set on metal followers,,,,,, order some from Chip McCormick. $15 dollars (or so) plus shipping for a spring and follower.

EDIT: Buy one and test it out.

Since they say they set the "standard for 7 and 8 round reliability and durability," I'd think they'd make it right for you. Not very duable if they keep failing.

$8 to replace follower and spring. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/171...lform-magazine

The CM follower is inexpensive enough to at least try your theory. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/427...er-1911-45-acp
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

You can buy replacement followers from Wilson for a couple of bucks each.I believe that they made the followers out of a self lubricating plastic(not sure if that is correct it's been a while since I last looked up the info).
