DON'T TRUST THE PPD!
Well i should have known better, I was supposed to have my LTCF last month as per my previous post on here. I haven't heard from them or received my LTCF approval in the mail so i contacted IA & i heard from them today & this is the garbage i got back from them. Bare in mind i used my Pa. Photo ID to apply. I am unable to issue your permit due to your license/ID card being
in suspension status/document pickup. This makes your identification invalid and
eligible for police confiscation. In order to have your permit issued ,your ID
must be valid and in good standing. If you feel that you don't have to supply
the Philadelphia Police Department, Gun Permits Unit with valid ID in order to
obtain your permit, feel free to contact License & Inspections for a new appeals
hearing.

Gun Permit Unit
Appeals Court Officer em. Bare in mind i used my Pa. Photo ID to apply. Here's a letter i wrote back when i did a little research & got the answers i was looking for: Hello officer green, Well I just received confirmation from The Office
of Chief Counsel of the Pennsylvania State Police that you are in error
and i was sent confirmation that my drivers license status has
absolutely nothing to due with the validity of my Photo ID and as long
as the date didn't expire and there's no Po box you have to accept it.
Now to make matters worse I also received from PennDot a statement
stating that those OLN numbers have nothing to due with the validity of
my PA Photo Identification Card and it's valid until it expires! You
have lied to me in an effort to deprive me of my 2nd Amendment
Constitutional Rights, My PA Constitutional rights and you also are in
violation of State Preemption laws as Philadelphia has no power to make
any changes to State law concerning Firearms & licenses. You have
denied me due process because when i was at my hearing i was told
illegally i might add that once i get my warrant lifted i would receive
my LTCF which according to the application itself on line I that
warrants relating to moving and non-moving violations under title 75
(relating to vehicles) are not to be considered. I would have hoped
that a public servant would make all efforts to know the laws and
enforce them as required by the oath you swore to uphold instead of
making every effort to break the laws willingly and not even have the
professional courtesy to at least check with your supervisors to make
sure you were right on State Law! With this knowledge i hope you check
with your supervisors on what the law is then confirm with The
Pennsylvania State Police and PennDot that you are wrong and in
violation of your duties. I want you to cease and desist with your
illegal actions and issue my License now and apologise to me for all
the emotional damage and personnel danger you put me in by your wanton
disregard for the Law in not giving me my License. All legal measures
are being taken by me to insure you will never ever be able to abuse
your power and harm another law abiding citizen again. Thank you..Last edited by Ckygo-go; April 26th, 2013 at 11:38 AM.

Re: DON'T TRUST THE PPD!
Didn't they change the system that if your DL gets suspended it automatically reverts just to state issue ID? So as long as it isn't expired, it's still valid for ID, right?

Re: DON'T TRUST THE PPD!
He said "license/ID card", so I figured that meant DL. I hear it all the time on the scanner when they call someone's DL in, that it's suspended pending document pickup, but then state that it's an ID Only card, that's why I questioned that.
It used to be if your DL got suspended you had to send it back to the state so it couldn't be used, but I thought they changed it so that it just becomes an ID card when it's run through the system.Rules are written in the stone,

Re: DON'T TRUST THE PPD!
I don't think the state issue Photo ID can be suspended, after all, what would they be suspending? It can be expired, because I think it has the same renewal scam as the DL does, not sure about that though.
It would only make sense if they were talking about a suspended DL being used as Photo ID>Rules are written in the stone,

Re: DON'T TRUST THE PPD!
Enter the inequities of how PA LTCFs are issued across the state. If you don't have a PADL but DO have a valid PA-ID card, they should not have grounds (based on that) to deny the LTCF. What a bunch of pompous jerks!
