Allegheny county LTCF...10 weeks?!
Stopped by the courthouse today to check the status of my application. I applied March 8th but I wanted to check and ask about turnaround times anyways. I was told I'm not even close and right now I am looking at 10 weeks from the day i applied. People that applied in mid January are just picking up permits now. I thought they had 45 days by law to issue or deny? Is there anything I can do to speed this up?

1. Call them every day, maybe they will get sick of hearing from you and process your application at the expense of others who applied before you. Then again someone "loses" your application after you pester them for the 100th time.
2. Hire an attorney to sue the Sheriffs office. I'm guessing you're going to need a five figure retainer to do something like this. It might be years before you get somewhere, but you will be right."No, it's just a machine. I'm the weapon." - Jack Harper in Oblivion

Re: Allegheny county LTCF...10 weeks?!
They often count the 45 days as business days. eight weeks becomes 40 days. When I got mine in Allegheny County, there was a very long line of people picking up their permit. I sent my application in on February 13 and picked my permit up April 12. The approval notice arrived a few days earlier when I was away. Patience, it will come.

Re: Allegheny county LTCF...10 weeks?!
I almost feel ashamed that I went to the Erie County Courthouse last week and deposited two quarters in the parking meter. That gave me 40 minutes to renew. I walked out with my LTCF in hand and still had ten minutes on my meter...

Just got my beautiful yellow card today! 8 1/2 weeks or 4 days before 45 business days.
