    Default Gun waiting period

I have just recently moved to Pennsylvania and I was told that I have to have a valid driver's license for 90 days before I can buy a handgun. My question is, does this apply to rifles/shotguns as well? I realize I could just be asking this question to a gun dealer, but frankly, I won't be able to get to a shop for a few days...

Thanks for the info! That is great to hear because I planned on going to the gun show in York in early May. I wouldn't want to go there knowing I couldn't buy ANYTHING.

Already have the ID and already have a few guns from when I lived in NY (3 to be exact). Now I just need to find a place to go shooting. I have heard of a place in Harrisburg (something to do with Anglers in the name), but I can't say I am too impressed with any distances they have for their ranges. Would anyone happen to know of a place close by that can offer 300 or so yard ranges?

Check out Middletown hunter's and anglers on school street. I belong there the food is half decent the bar is nice and the ranges are ok. People there will leave you be or you can spark up a conversation. Call them to see what is up, if I loved closer I would be more than happy to sponsor you. If you really need me to I could come down some day and sponsor you. Check them out. You may even be able to roll in and talk to the president I am not sure of his name explain your situation and he may even sponsor you. If you want their phone number PM me. How ever longest range is only 200 yards.

Middletown Hunter's anglers also has a 25 yard indoor pistol range also. It is the very closest for you.

As stated, there is NO such restriction in PA law.
If someone tells you that you must have residency for X number of days, regardless of where in PA, they do not know what they are talking about.

You need state issued ID, that's it.
