Default Feinstein reintroduces AWB as amendment to Manchin/Toomey bill

While most in the media have harped the bipartisan compromise concerning universal background checks by manchin and toomey, little notice has been given to the fact that feinstein has reintroduced her assault weapon ban as amendments to the manchin/toomey bill.

To see the amendments, go to thomas.loc.gov at the url posted. Then go to 'amendments'. Next, click on each amendment (e.g.711), then 'text of amendment as submitted' to see text of the amendment.

On the other hand, now we don't have to fight background checks, which most people are ok with if they don't outright support it. Now we're fighting BANNING GUNS, which very few people agree with.
This might work as a poison pill.

And it may not with his group of sellouts. All they need is a few more FBI files to "coerce" with.

Actually, Toomey's so-called bill is just one of five amendments to S.649. Keep your eyes on S.649. There are four other gun grabbing amendments (one of which is Feinstein's gun ban).

Be very clear - Toomey only submitted an amendment to S.649, not a completely seperate bill. It will only be adopted if approved as an amendment to S.649, and S.649 is passed. Other amendments may or may not be added on, but that doesn't change the fact that the foundation of all of this is S.649. Go over that bill with a fine toothed comb to see what other infringements of our Constitutional rights are proposed.

I don't understand why they would do this, other than that they are really stupid. It will most likely not get through the Senate, the 16 republican "turncoats" will not support this, and I doubt Toomey even will (call me an idiot, I know). The House will never pass it. What is their game? It is surely not to pass an AWB at this point. It must be to turn the House Democratic by bashing Republicans for not voting for "children's safety".

Whatever the reason for this is, Toomey had better come up with something good to give us to atone for this stupidity, and we need to figure out a way to purge Bloomberg from the political scene.

Even if this bill (as ammended) clears the Senate (which it won't), it will never get through the house.

I suppose since Feinstein is now responsible for killing this bill, we should thank her?
