Re: LTCF woes Montgomrey County
East Norriton does not charge either. Actually the sheriff's depth is giving you the fast track option as they already have up to 45 days to approve or deny you. The townships are the ones trying to make a quick buck by taking advantage of the fast track option and charging you. Just my opinion of the situation.

Re: LTCF woes Montgomrey County
The Sheriff does not force you to do anything extra.
You have the option to take a shortcut.
The other option is not "wait 45 days", it is wait for the investigation to be done by the Sheriff (just like it is in many other counties). By law, that investigation cannot take more than 45 days or they must issue.
I will vote to re-elect my Sheriff.

Re: LTCF woes Montgomrey County
So if I apply for my Montco permit about 60 days before my Chesco permit expires I should be just fine, right?

Re: LTCF woes Montgomrey County
How long did it take you to get your LTCF in Montco? I got mine in less than a week.
You should be plenty OK with 2 months. I think Pottstown extorts a fee for the card check, so just bypass it and apply without it. If you are not in the borough call your local PD and ask.
I dont disagree, I just cant read straight sometimes. I read it backwards.

Yes, the Sheriff technically doesn't force you to do anything extra. However, in about every single other county in the state including Berks where I am originally from, you do not need the check card and are out in 15 minutes same day. No need for extra work to get the same service.
Berks has the world's biggest hell hole, Reading, straight in the middle of it, and yet they still manage to get the LTCF procedure right.
