Prevention or a deterrent .
Instead of harrassing and implementing more laws for law abiding citizens. How about we target the real problem and put harsher punishment for anyone convicted of violent crimes with a deadly weapon.
Times are changing and getting rougher for the younger generation.Implement no nonsense MANDATORY death sentences for this criminals.None of this sit in prison and leach of taxpayers for life crap.
Do the crime see you in the chair !!! to hell with this do the time nonsense.
Use a gun to commit a crime bamm.... mandatory death sentence.
Ok knife sales might go up but hey it's a start.

There are plenty of ways to reduce crime.
when our leaders WANT to reduce crime, they must simply do their jobs.

Re: Prevention or a deterrent .
Sometimes the mandatory sentencing rules have some drastic unintended consequences.
Back in the late 80s, one of the car rags reported that a fellow had been stopped and found guilty of excessive speed. This was a felony and the problem was that he already had two felony convictions so he got life because of the three strikes rule.
Another reported case also involved some stupid traffic felony but since the driver was carrying a gun, they added the "felony with a gun" enhancement and got him something like 20 years.

They dont want to solve ANY problems, they just want issues to campaign on.

What were the other two felonies?
Once upon a time i was a supervisor. I had one guy that was a big football fan. So when ever there was a game on there was a 50-50 chance he would not be in the next day. So he accumulated the amount that would earn him a write up. Three write ups and your gone. Well the last straw was a day he blew off because his father went for an operation. Blew off means no show no call. So he received another write up which resulted in termination.
To this day everyone remembers it as he was fired because he took a day off because his father had an operation.troll Free. It's all in your mind.

Re: Prevention or a deterrent .
perpetrators can bypass any prison sentence deterrent simply by not giving a fuck about it, or if they're sick of life by killing themselves after committing a serious crime such as mass murder.
People who are dead wrong, should have been stopped right there, and then by deadly force.
