Default Philly LTCF...been about 9 weeks..

Its been about 9 weeks since i applied for my LTCF in Philly and have not yet recieved an approval or denial letter in the mail. I know it may take up to 10 weeks but Should i just call the Gun and Tracking unit to see what the deal is (approval, denial, processing, sent out, about to be sent out etc.) or wait?
    Thanks

    Call them. Cite the following.

    §6109. Licenses.
    (e) Issuance of license.*

    (1) A license to carry a firearm shall be for the purpose of carrying a firearm concealed on or about one's person or in a vehicle and shall be issued if, after an investigation not to exceed 45 days, it appears that the applicant is an individual concerning whom no good cause exists to deny the license.

Yeah man, that sounds kind of odd, considering my father got his in 3 weeks, and mine was in about 5 weeks. I would definitely call someone.

I just got mine, it took about 7 or 8 weeks I think. My friend applied after me and got his before me. I called after 6 weeks to why mine took longer and they just said it takes 10 weeks, not including weekends and holidays. When I went to pick mine up though there were people there for a status check. I assumed that meant checking the status of their application but I'm not certain.

it seems like not everyone gets a confirmation/denial letter so i better call or stop by to check my status. I guess they want me to work for it...

My philly license letter came 43 days after app, a detective called about a week after application and went over some stuff with me and basically said I was approved.

I called the Philadelphia Police Dept. Gun and tracking Unit about my permit status today and they said they dont give out that kind of information over the phone and i would have to go down to the office and check in-person. I also did the math...its been exactly 45 weekdays since my application was submitted. Im gonna go down on friday and see whats up. hopefully they just neglected to mail out my letter and i dont need a lawyer.

Just to be clear, the law does not say "45 weekdays", "45 working days" or "45 days, not counting holidays". It's "45 days", period.

I know but philly pulls that "working day" BS. Hence the 8-10 week waiting period.
