    Default Address change and LTC.

In addition to generic google searches I have searched the PA state statutes and have come up with nothing regarding changing addresses and notifying and or who to notify upon a change of address.

Can anyone comment or site a specific statute or source?

From my understanding the county that issued the original permit will send a renewal reminder to the address they have on file however that is the extent of the usefulness of the current address on file.

However of course the renewal would be handled by the county you currently have residency in.

This would be for a PA resident permit.

In Pike country you have to go to the Sheriffs office with proof of the change.
We went from rural delivery boxes to street addresses last year. They won't do it over the phone. I'll have to make the trip in to see the sherif.

There is nothing in the statutes about an address change for LTCF holders. So you are not required to inform anybody.

However, besides getting the renewal application, it is good to inform the sheriff who issued your LTCF so that if he decides to revoke your license, he knows where to send the notice.

It doesn't hurt or take much time depending on PICS.

Just go to who ever issued your LTCF, request a change of address. Show them your driver's license with new address .... they 'revoke' your old LTCF, contact PICS for the reason to reissue, Pay the fee (Monroe was $3) and off you go.

When they reissued my license, it was for another 5 yrs from date of issue. Almost like a reward for being a good boy and updating my info.

Hm. Perhaps a quick trip to the courthouse to see my good friend, Sergeant Kittridge, is in order.

Only reason I can think of my license would get revoked if is some ridiculous law was passed making it unlawful for PA residents to carry a firearm.

In which case I would rather not be notified lol.

I just carry my change of address form in my wallet with my LTCF, and my old DL. I have to renew in May of next year. No need to have a new one issued and no need to notify anyone you changed your address.

There is no requirement to even update your PA drivers license?

I've never done it in PA, but in Maryland you would get a separate state-issued change of address card that you would present with your DL, and your DL would remain valid until it's renewal. In both Maryland and Pennsylvania there is no charge for a change of address card, IIRC.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

I believe you have 15 days after moving to update your address with PennDot. And they send you an update card to carry with your DL until it is time for your next renewal.
