New gun help and opinions wanted.

I am Currently shopping for a new toy, I want a new compact 45 I have looked at the G30 and G36 Springfield XDS. Is there a gun out there that i am missing? What would you buy? Thanks for the help.

A bit on the expensive side at just south of 1000.00 but there's always the Colt Defender. I have one as my edc, and I love it. Fits my hand like it was built for it. Single stack = easy concealment even in lighter summer clothes.

I would go 1911... but the Glock 36 is a very concealable carry gun.

Definitly go 1911. I picked up a rock island with crimson grips for under 400. Has full length guide rod and bull barrel. The thing is sweet. I am selling my emp because I like this pistol better. you don't have to spend a grand to get a nice 1911. Detonics make very nice 1911's and they can be found from time to time at shops for under 700. I personally feel every other semi on the market ends up getting modified to get as close as possibly to a 1911 so why waste your money on anything else. they do make high cap 1911's so ammo limit is a poor excuseI have played with a variety of handguns and now I only shoot 1911's and target 22lrs mainly high standards.

Witness. Poly or steel. My nod would go to steel first. Can't best the CZ pattern imho. Compact witness steel .45 is pretty much the size of an officer sized 1911 with more capacity.

My G30 is a friggin tank ... Thick gun. I carry the SW MP9 now in a RCS holster with a TLR1 HL. Even with the light it's more comfy, the RCS has A LOT to do with that!

from xd-talk, the xd forum i frequent, i hear there are some issues to be worked out of the XDs... I have no issue with my XDm, but you might want to look into that forum before checking out the springfields.

I love my Colt commander 4" barrel while not compact it is easy to conceal. Good luck with whatever you choose.
Even better luck finding ammo.
