I was thinking about getting one but I have not met anyone that has one. Any words or advice, it seems to have many features at a decent price?

We have determined that some Ruger SR9 pistols manufactured between October 2007 and April 2008 can, under certain conditions, fire if dropped with their manual safeties in the "off" or "fire" position. The pistols will not fire if the manual safety is in the "on" or "safe" position.
We will retrofit all Ruger SR9 pistols starting with serial number prefix “330” (330-xxxxx) with these new parts at no charge to our customers.
In order to ensure correct fitting, these new parts must be installed at our Ruger factory in Prescott, Arizona. Thanks 4 the post /link on that. I heard that several dry fires would cause other problems. I do know that they are going like hot cakes, and feature and price can be to good to be true. I hope this link stays active enough to reach out to a few that have the weapon.

You will enjoy shooting it. I like everything about this gun. It fits my hand well,17+1 capacity and looks good also

I had one for two months and traded it in. I found it inaccurate and disliked the trigger. I got a Glock 19 in the trade, and find it to be immensely more accurate, and a better trigger pull. Just my opinion. In the end, I think the SR9 got me on aesthetics. It's a nice-looking gun, which is important in different amounts to different people.

All I can say is that after owning the SR9, and the Glock, I prefer the Glock much more.

I've held one at a gunshop. For a 17 round gun it felt amazingly thin in the hand, and the grip was very comfortable. But, my first impression on picking it was that it felt somehow cheap, and fragile. Not a feeling I've ever gotten from any other Ruger!

I had one for less than 24 hours,,just felt to cheap to me

looks like they took trade in p-89s and put them in an oven and melted all the fat off.
