Hornady TAP FPD 12 Gauge 00 Buckshot VersaTite Wad Ballistics Gel Test

Just finished up the testing of the #00 Hornady TAP buckshot round.
Here are the conditions and results.

Test Conditions

-18.5'' Remington 870 barrel (no aftermarket chokes, as it comes from the factory)
-Test rounds fired from 10 feet
-FBI spec (their term) Clear Ballistics gel block
-4 layers of denim

Results:

-1429 fps average velocity
-17-25'' of penetration

There is a several inch thick stone wall behind the drywall in my hallway. I've tried drilling into it to hang stuff and it can't be done. Regardless of which weapon or type of ammunition I'm using, I'm confident that I don't have to worry about it penetrating that wall.

Your camera picks up really good audio. I love the sound of that 870's action. My videos don't sound anywhere near that good.

The problem with that is it loves to pick up wind noise as well and it has a built in mic---no mufflers work with it. Pros and cons I suppose....

I love this ammo. I keep it in my side saddle...been using tap for years.
