Why not petition ammo manufacturers?
Here's a thought I had today why not petition ammo manufacturers to not sell to the fed? A few gun manufacturers already stopped selling to certain state gov's why not get the ammo manufacturers to do the same? I wouldn't want to see local pd loose their ammo but I could deal with DHS and some other agencies not getting theirs.

Re: Why not petition ammo manufacturers?
I have sort of. On my NY board we had an email/phone campaign to get companies to stop sells of prohibited items to LE in ban states or in the case of ammo companies, fulfill civilian orders before LE/Govt. Shockingly not a one decided to take us up on the idea.

Ammo manufacturers are under contract, to fill fed orders first.

The ammo manufacturers have really not shown us much loyalty.

ATK Alliant is a huge defense industry contractor. They also manufacture some "name" ammunition brands.

I think most of it is going to end up going to local Police Departments, for "surplus practice use".

Thanks for the link. Maybe thats why I always seem to find Hornady on the shelf. I like some of ATKs stuff but I guess a call is warranted.

Re: Why not petition ammo manufacturers?
One peculiar thing I've noticed is that a lot of the ammo that I've recently been able to purchase is imported: Fiocchi from Italy and PMC from S. Korea. I primarily buy Hornady for self-defense ammo.

Re: Why not petition ammo manufacturers?
Yeah that's why I'm kinda glad I bought an AK over an AR. Ak ammo has only really doubled in cost where as AR has seemed to tripled or quadrupled in price. The real thing that's killing me is finding handgun ammo. I can only seem to find jhp's for my .40 no fmj's out there and every thing is real exspensive.
