Great video she said all the "right" things too

This is exactly how it is supposed to work. She simply refused to be a victim and had the means necessary to make sure that it didn't happen. Kudos to the news team, too, for airing the truth.

If no one else in the home was at risk of being harmed, she should have stayed put, on the phone, until the police arrived.

I've done it myself, but I realize now, that seeking out the bad guy is not the best move.

Not only did she do the right things... in the right sequence... but the news crew also did a great job of justifying what happened and how she controlled the situation correctly.

Kudos for both the woman and reporter for showing in a good light the reasons for CCW...

I give her 1/2 a pass, only because it seemed to me that she thought the intruder had left, and only found him while going through the house to see what was out of place.

I did not like the sob story either. Made the criminal out to be some type of good guy forced to do what he did. Very typical.

She also displayed a bit of bad trigger discipline in the video too.

No, she really did not do the right thing. That being said, I’m guilty of doing the same as her, but I’m not a maybe 50 year old woman and I have some training other than a basic carry class.

But, what if the BG wasn’t passive, or there were 2 perps? This could have turned out differently! She could have been hurt or worse. She called the police and should have waited for them to arrive and let them clear the house. Playing hide and seek, the one hiding has the advantage.
