Default No gun check at Northampton County Courthouse?

So, I have to take a trip up there for undisclosed reasons (rest assured, though, I am in absolutely no trouble; it just so happens to be incidental to something else I'm doing) and I asked a judge I know there how to check my firearm. I wasn't sure if he'd know, but it was worth a shot. Long story short, his answer was :no, it'll be after hours, and thus there won't even be a security guard on duty. So, leave it in your car.

Not a fan of that idea in Easton, but it looks like I am well and truly fucked. Can't check it, can't enter with it, and don't want to leave it in my car. Is there a hidden option I'm overlooking?

If it's after hours as you stated...what will you be doing there?

I'd call the sherrif and demand a deputy be on for your appointment to handle your check in. Reason #567432 that Northampton County needs to get with it and just put lockers before the security check.

I'm still trying to understand how they will allow someone in without security. I can't imagine that there is not one single night shift deputy.

I have to go there for a special school class session dealing with Constitutional Law. Otherwise I'd blow it off after this 'no gun check' business.

I am certain the Judge is wrong here, anytime those doors are open to the public there is indeed security present.

I can't imagine an instance where deranged individuals attending a custody hearing would be given the opportunity to go in after hours and hide a weapon of some sort, It just doesn't make sense.

I know some of the cleaning personnel at that facility and they all go through security when reporting for work in the evening, and once they are in the facility they are not allowed to exit and enter at will, once they exit they are not allowed back in.

I would call the sheriffs office just to confirm.

They just go funding for lockers, but unsure if they were already installed and if they are for law enforcement, or the public. Call the Sheriff's office to make arrangements.

    Glock 30

There is not requirement for security in a court house. My court house has no security.

In MY Honest Opinion security is unnecessary and a gross misuse of tax payer money. They ISSUE most LTCF permits @ or near most court houses. Everyone working there should be armed. Everyone working there is a County Employee and should be sworn in, IF the county feels there is a security risk.
