Default A slightly positive OC encounter

This was my first real OC encunter besides the occasional odd look. Was at a local mall a few weeks ago and we (me and my g/f) decided to go eat at Arby's. So i was OC'n my SW Sigma in a Blackhawk Serpa and noticed a lady in line giving me the evil eye. We ordered our food, got the order and went to eat. Not more than 5 minutes into eating a seen a mall security guard walking towards the entrance, i knew what he wanted...and me not being 100% of the malls regulations (under remodel and the doors were covered) i got out my PA carry phamlet in case.

So he approched us in our booth, introduced himself and shook my hand. He then asked if i had a weapon and i said yes while i was getting the phamlet ready he said ok just wondering because we had a call about a man with a gun and we have to check it out. Then he appologized for bothering us but just to h ad to verify what the call was. Then he asked about my gun and he said he has something or other at home and carrys. Then he bid me a goodbye, shook hands again and we finished our meal.

So i went up to the counter to get something for home and asked the kid working the counter if they called security and he said company policy is to follow state laws and they did not. He even said we like to see armed citizens and how anther gentlemen always OCs in there after his walk three times a week. He also said when he gets enough money he wants to get a handgun and asked about the law and said they (as a collective, himself and co-workers) like to see armed citizens because it makes them feel a little bit safer in case of something going down.

Aside from the disgruntled lady in line whom i presume narced on me it was a good day...

I would consider this a positive experience in my book. Especially considering you were in a mall. Most malls are posted as "No firearms, No knives, No weapons..." blah blah blah. I've actually been escorted out of the Mall at Robinson for OC. It's also good that the employees at the place you were eating at were supportive of your rights and the reason for you carrying (for protection). You're always going to have some liberal gun grabber giving you dirty looks at one point or another. Like I said, from my experiences, I would chalk this up as a good encounter.

I think as time goes on, these policies may change. When malls become a shooting gallery and sales are diverted to stores that do not restrict OC/CC, property management is SLOWLY changing their minds and their positions.

I hope your right. I get so edgy every time I go to the mall. They are literally a mass shooters dream.

I usually dont frequent that mall but i couldnt take notice of the policies on the door because they were covered up. The other mall down the road I OC'd at a few times and not one word was said. The mall i usually freqent to be honest i dont know the policy but i usually CC there.

Mental note, look at the signs i dont wanna get harassed and break and policy. I do know one thing, the movie theater i go to doesnt have any signs on the doors and i looked them over with a fine tooth comb, so i CC there.

I don't think the oc cc people shopping elsewhere has any noticeable financial affect. In fact I'm sure of it. How many PA residents carry? not many. An Insignificant amount od sales would be diverted.

Statistically, there are about 1 million LTCF's in PA. That means about 1 in 10 people feel strongly enough about 2A rights to actually do something about it. While that's only 10%, that means there are many more who are at least sympathetic.

I have never been in a mall in PA without carrying. Open carrying. I have also never seen a no guns sign, even though I am told most of them had them until recently. That's not a wink and a nod, I've truly never seen a no guns sign.
