    Question 5.56mm Suppressor Question.

I am in the market to buy my first suppressor and have a question for those that own one.

I was wondering if I could use a 5,56mm suppressor for my M4 on a .22 caliber rifle?

I know it wouldn't work the other way around, but I figure a heavier duty 5,56mm AR/M16 suppressor would be fine on a .22

    Thoughts?

You can use it, but the concern is the lead build up. If you are contemplating this setup, I would highly recommend a disassemblable suppressor, so that you can clean it. Otherwise, when it leads up, you won't be happy with the suppression.

    ^what he said.

A can that sees 22 use should to be taken apart and cleaned because the lead fowling can literally pack the can and decrease its effectiveness.

Check out the Huntertown Arms Kestral. User serviceable 5.56 can so theres no guilt about shooting dirty .22 ammo through it.

Ace Sporting Goods had a few Kestrel 5.56's and a .22 last week. Good price and they would be exactly what you need.

    +1

Have one for .22lr and one for 5.56, love them. A 30cal one is next on the list.
