    Default Fienstein AWB Its Back!!!

"Reid told Feinstein that he would give her a vote on the assault weapons ban, which includes curbs on high-capacity clips, and a second vote on a stand-alone amendment to ban high-capacity bullet magazines."

I'm confused? All the news I have read is that the AWB would not be coming for a vote but some other anti gun measures would be including mag capacity restrictions and background checks would be.

Is it because he knows there are not enough votes for it to pass?

Supposedly he's going to allow the AWB and the mag limits to be offered as amendments rather than bills. I'm guessing the theory is that by putting them into the bill then vulnerable Dems in red states would have to vote 'yay' or 'nay' on the whole thing, which may have brought the whole thing down. This way they can vote 'nay' on the amendments and 'yay' on the bill(straw purchase and, presumably, some sort of background check legislation). Keep in mind that the Dems took control of the senate last time using Rahm's strategy of recruiting pro-gun Dems to run in red states. How ironic that the same guy who brought all the pro-gun Dems into the government in the first place is now crying that the senate won't pass gun control and is trying to run every gun out of Chicago. Just another classic example of what whores politicians are.

    IDK what you're reading...

"I very much regret it," Feinstein said Tuesday of the choice that Reid told her he had made. "I tried my best. But my best, I guess, wasn't good enough."
Feinstein's proposal to prohibit military-style weapons will still get a vote as an amendment to the gun legislation that Democrats debate. But she is all but certain to need 60 votes from the 100-member Senate to prevail, and she faces solid Republican opposition as well as likely defections from some Democrats.

Reid told reporters that "using the most optimistic numbers," there were less than 40 votes for Feinstein's ban. That is far less than the 60 votes needed to move contested legislation in the chamber, which has 53 Democrats plus two independents who usually back them.
Back? Not really. The bill itself is pretty much dead.

These links are conflicting, Is the AWB dead, on life support, or does it have a slight chance?

To explain it more clearly. Sen. Feinsteins bill is pretty much DOA.

    BUT

White House chief of staff Denis McDonough said Obama is not giving up on the assault weapons ban being added as an amendment.
Understand the difference? Reid is saying he's backing any amendments.

Combine staylo's quote and my sig line and you can see the next plan of attack by the Dems. It will all be backdoor shit. Frankenstein is crying the blues in pubic to take the heat off of the issue.

They expect us to fall asleep at the switch so they can sneak one in our back door.

Not too difficult to understand, tis the way they operate these days.

PLEASE folks, pay attention and keep the calls and emails, etc. flowing.
