    Talking Does this exist?

Was watching an old Avengers episode (1960's spy show), and the hero was practicing with a shotgun. What was interesting was he had a device that looked like a handle with a sort of ring on the end. It was loaded with a blank cartridge, capped off with an empty beer can, and fired by pulling the ring, launching the can for him to shoot with the shotgun. Bear in mind that this was a British show. I got the impression that launching cans was the sole purpose of this device. Any idea?

Yes at one time the can launching device did exist. I remember seeing adds for it in the shooting magazines of the day, but I'll be d'd if I can remember the name of the thing.

I'm afraid it has gone the way of the Dardick Gun and the Gyrojet.
