Heck I am not surprised that during all these liberal attempts to ban guns and ammo that AL GORE is not pushing a "shooting ban" yet.

You know that each time you shoot a firearm it makes heat, and that heat is released into the atmosphere.

And that heat from shooting definitely is contributing to GLOBAL WARMING.

Lead ammunition is already banned within the range of the California Condor in Cali and Arizona (iirc) too. Several years ago some environmental groups tried to get lead ammunition banned nationwide by applying to EPA under hazardous materials rules.

Lead shot was banned by federal law for waterfowl shooting over 30 years ago nationwide.

Why? Not because the lead shot poisons the meat. It was banned simply because waterfowl ate the expended loose shot when feeding in shallow water. The shot builds up in their gullet and slowly poisons the bird.

I was originally completely against the banning of lead shot myself until I talked to my father in law who was one of the research biologists who studied its effects.

As for lead bullets...

Really! Where's the data? There is none of course. Game shot with lead bullets do not poison the meat. I believe several midwestern states did studies that did not show any significant lead contamination in game meat tested. I'm sure somebody with a better connection (I still live up in dial up land) can find the studies posted on-line.

This is another ridiculous attack on both hunting and gun ownership by people who don't care about anything but their social agenda.
