A.H. Fox Double Barrel - Help ID Please!

Hi Guys,

Going through my grandfather's collection, I came across this double barrel shotgun that I need to help IDing. All I know is that it is an A.H. Fox. Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially if you know if it is worth anything.

by the crude pix it is better than a field grade gun, prolly A grade, worth about $1000-1500 in the current condition, depending on things i can't see in the photos. prolly produced in philly after 1905. need serial number, gauge and better pix for accurate appraisal.

some say that this was the finest American made shotgun of all time.

Thinking of selling, have several other rifles that I am also looking to sell. Would like to first figure more out about this gun and what it is, etc. and what it's worth. I will likely post all the rifles/guns I want to sell on this site's classified section. Rather not use gunbroker unless I have to. Thanks.

i would try to get this gun put into one of the better gun auction houses. you will not get good value any other way. ansley fox collectors has a website that you could join (google it). you might be able to realise top dollar there. could be much more than my estimate.
