Default Colorado AWB (SB-196) language makes you agree with lies

Check this out, by selling or transferring an "assault weapon" in Colorado, you agree to a couple of things that are simply just not true if SB-196 passes:

    2) A PERSON WHO SELLS OR TRANSFERS AN ASSAULT WEAPON IS DEEMED TO BE AWARE:

    (a) THAT ASSAULT WEAPONS ARE SOUGHT AFTER BY AND ARE USEFUL FOR CRIMINALS, MASS KILLERS, AND THOSE WITH CRIMINAL INTENT BUT ARE RARELY NECESSARY FOR LAWFUL PURPOSES; AND

    (b) OF THE EXTREME LIKELIHOOD THAT AN ASSAULT WEAPON THAT IS SOLD OR TRANSFERRED WILL BE USED IN A CRIME OR WILL RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

    hah that's priceless.

I wonder what purpose such a statement serves? Does it make the seller complicit legally in any crimes committed by the buyer? Or does it release the state from liability? I'm going to go to the furniture store and rip all the tags off all the mattresses in protest.

The way I see this, its a law with a built in poll.

Every time someone sells/transfers a weapon they are at the same time bolstering the argument "Well, X number of people agree that these kinds of weapons are more often used in crime than for sport or self defense".

How can they get away with that? It is beyond comprehension.

It's like a waiver when selling an SUV that states that "I am aware that criminals are highly likely use this vehicle to commit violent crimes."

    Let's see......

it's estimated that there's at least 2.5 million 'assault rifles' in private hands in the U.S., and according to Feinstein herself(a dubious source) 350 people(a dubious number as well) have been killed with 'assault weapons' since 2004. SO......

350 deaths divided by 2.5 million 'assault rifles' equals .00014% of 'assault rifles' were used in a shooting - and that number assumes only one death per rifle!

Yes, I would say one could say with a staight face that there's an EXTREME LIKELIHOOD THAT AN ASSAULT WEAPON THAT IS SOLD OR TRANSFERRED WILL BE USED IN A CRIME OR WILL RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

With idiots like these running our states/country it's no wonder we're in such deep doody.

That section is complete conjecture and opinion. CO must have started enjoying their fruits of legalizing pot prior to drafting this legislation. ( they must be high )

    Who makes this shit up?
They are democrats and they get away with this shit all the time.

Example the current deal with O and the made up sequester nonsense.

The fact is "assault weapons" (BS made up term BTW) are used in a very very small amount of crimes.

I guess they figure if the fill the Bill with enough BS, without the time/ability, similar to the SAFE ACT, to fully review it, some of it will be missed before it's too late to do anything about it.
