Default Most User Friendly County in S.E. PA for Nonresident Permit

Hi all, I'm a brand newbie to this forum and this is my first post. I live in northern Delaware and work in Philadelphia. I have my DE resident CCW permit and a Utah non-resident permit. I am planning on getting my PA Nonresident CCW permit and wonder which of the neighboring counties is the most user friendly for that purpose. My choices are Philadelphia, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Lancaster and if necessary Berks. I am guessing that it will be worth the extra travel time to go to Lancaster, but would love to hear your thoughts.

BTW, my everyday carry is either a Kahr CM9 in a paddle holster or a Kel-Tec P3-AT in a Recluse or deSantis SuperFly pocket holster.

    TIA!
    Vic

I can't speak to how it is for a non-resident, and it's a little further for you, but Bucks County is phenomenal for residents. Very good Sheriff, and most residents are in and out in 15 minutes.

Thanks --- I forgot about Bucks. Duh... I will definitely keep it in mind.

i am not sure how they handle out of state licenses but i would say bypass philly since us who live here have trouble getting a ltcf. unless you can jump through hoops while blindfolded juggling chainsaws while bouncing on a pogo stick then you might be just fine.

Yeah, unfortunately that's what I've been told by others. Too bad, since it's by far the most geographically convenient for me.

Isn't Chester county pretty good for issuing permits? It would be the most convenient choice; Montgomery I would say is a no-go, that "local police check card" BS is aggravating considering the UFA, but that's been beaten to death already...

Chester County doesn't issue non-resident licences. Lancaster is probably the OP's best bet.

Ok, thanks on the clarification, wasn't sure about that. Then Lancaster would be the next choice. Just don't go to MontCo like I said earlier. 😊

And of course it says so on their website:

    Instructions for License to Carry

License to carry a firearm will be issued to Chester County residents only, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF: out of state sworn police officers with proper identification.

I guess Miss Bunny doesn't like following the statutes.
