50 BMG ranges?

Does anyone know of any ranges in or near Berks County that allow 50 BMG rifles preferably with at least 300yds? My range doesn't and I've always wanted to get one but if there is nowhere to shoot it there would be no point.

You have to be a member. Easy to join.

400 yard range. No full auto.

Not sure how much this will help but check the thread about ranges. I saw one there that was in the Exeter,Berks County area that had a 300yd range and even had competitions for LONG Range Shooting.

I will try to find it has well.

I don't think they allow 50 BMG, but you could call or email them and check.

I have seen University's website before a while back and I could swear that they said no BMG. I just followed your link and cannot find that in their rules now so I wonder if they changed it? I will have to give them a call or email to find out. Thanks!

THis is the one I was referring to in my post. I looked over their regs as well and it doesnt specifically mention 50 BMG but the one rule mentions MAGNUM Loads.
7. On the Smallbore Rifle range only .22 rimfire short, long, and long rifle may be used. (No Magnum loads permitted no Center-fire loads, no jacketed loads.)

Would a 50 BMG be considered a Magnum load?

Steve,

The Smallbore rifle range is just that - SMALLBORE! The magnum load they are refering to is .22 Magnum.

Since centerfire rounds (versus rimfire) are not allowed on this Smallbore range, 50 BMG would be automatically excluded. FYI, 50 BMG is not considered a Magnum load.

There is a 300/200/100 yard range where centerfire (and magnum) rounds are allowed. I still don't think that they allow 50 BMG on the 300 yard range, but perhaps they have changed their rules.

I submitted a question on their website so I will see what they say when they get back to me. I don't really have the money to buy one now but I would eventually pick one up if I knew I had a place to shoot it.
