These are kind of the people that my father served with when he was on the force. I know he and his friends - both retired and still active duty - are angry about the saber rattling of the federal government and some of the state governments. I very much doubt any of them would comply, and they will not put up with their cohorts who will comply.

Sorry but some NYPD are on our side
Lots of post on "Thee Rant" that show that these officers are on our side. This sight was the issue of some court cases - cops fired over mayor bloombergs feeling being hurt!

I wonder how many of the NYPD that are "on our side" have conducted illegal seizures of people's property doing "stop and frisk" details?

I believe that the only reason they're currently saying that they're on our side is because so many of these laws will directly affect them at home. They'll continue to be on our side until the law is written that officers are completely exempted from the laws passed for you and I.

They are exempt from NYC/NYS laws. Most can't wait to retire and leave the state.
I have family and friends on the NYPD - they hate what is going on - S&F is not their favorite activity. Unfortunatly the young cops are the ones that get off on the power trip. I rather deal with an old timer than a young cop.

So they're content to continue to violate rights up until retirement? Well, as long as they're standing with us, I guess it's ok.

Doesn't matter if they like S&F or not, if they continue to do it, they're not exactly with us and they're more than happy to collect money on the backs of those that they're violating.

Sorry, no sympathy for them from me. If they actually had convictions, they'd quit.

I agree with you that it is illegal but the courts don't see it that way.
None of the cops I know personally have done a S&F - like i said its the young cops on ego trips that seem to do them.
