Re: 1919a4 kit - need builder
Wish I could help, I built mine almost 10 years ago and have sold off my bucking bar and the rivet tool I made.
Also, is everything else ready? Your internals are machined and ready to go? You have the rivets and semi trigger? I believe KMP is still making them if not.
I would suggest going over to 1919a4.com and see if there is a builder or possibly a build party going on in your area.

Re: 1919a4 kit - need builder
I'm getting ready to do mine as well. My kit is complete (semi sideplate) but I don't have the internals modified/replaced with semi. I'm in no rush but since you are less than an hour from me let me know if you find a builder or get a group thing going.

Re: 1919a4 kit - need builder
built several 6-7 years ago. fun project. mine cost about $650 total. i hear they are a bit higher than that these days. then there is your linker, your links, your tripod or A6 kit, your 8mm barrel, maybe a 7.62X54R conversion, your de-linker, your transit chest, ......shoot, i forgot about the ammo you need now that you have an over-sized bullet hose...

Re: 1919a4 kit - need builder
Do you machine internals to semi or just put it together?
Not much point to 8mm now.
I have the 1917 tripod complete, which is pretty awesome. I think it has all the right brass as well.
Linker? Maybe I'll need one when I meet you six or seven years ago. Until then, I don't expect to shoot so much that I can't do it by hand

.308 ammo is no problem for me as I stacked it cheap and deep years ago. I heard of guy in INdiana that do the bolt mods with a semi triggèr sear for $200.
Now if we can find someone to host a build party, that would be sweet

Didn't I try to buy a finished unit off of you last year?
I'm not accusing you of anything Nothing went bad with it. I think maybe you sold it or I backed out.

Thank you. I want his info, just not sure how much money I have to spend. I guess I should try to get this done. I've had the stuff over a year, maybe longer. Can we get a deal on two or more if we go in together?

Re: 1919a4 kit - need builder
I started to organize a build party on 1919a4.com and it has attracted a lot of attention. Maybe 3-4 guys in the local area are looking to get their kits built. One guy has drill presses, park tanks, and all the tools. I will keep you posted on the party probably in April.
