Ruger LC380 issues
Just picked up a ruger LC380 at the York gun show and had it to the range. I was using some cheap PPU ammo. It seems about 2 out of 7 rounds were stove piping and the last round the case wasn't ejecting and the slide failed to stay back. Any one know if PPU ammunition may not be strong enough to reliably work in semi auto pistols or has any one had trouble with LC380(or LC9) for that matter? Gonna try another type of ammunition next time out. Other than that the recoil was easy to control and the DA trigger wasn't as bad as i thought though still gonna take some practice.

This may be a silly question but, did you clean it before shooting it?

Re: Ruger LC380 issues
PPU is good quality ammo. I feel its a touch hotter than domestic. I'll put my money on packing grease still in the gun.

Re: Ruger LC380 issues
I have around 150 rounds thru mine I have had 1 or 2 jams. The worst is getting the side to feed the first round I have to smack it with the heal of my had to get it to close. I polished the ramp but have not tried it yet I also see Wolf spring has stronger springs for them also which is on my list to do. Ruger does say it it needs a 200 round brake in period.

I shot a box of PPU through my TCP 738. The ammo burned so dirty it jammed the gun by the 20th round.

Re: Ruger LC380 issues
Had the lc380 to the range this morning and got else stove pipes so i think it may just be the springs needing broken in. I tried 4 types of ammo and even handled hollowpoints OK. The only issue im seeing is that the action isn't staying open with the last shot but that could be the springs also i suppose. Gonna go up when it is a bit warmer and put a few more boxes through. Also took a henry mares leg 22LR with and that is a great and fun gun to shoot. Cant wait to take it hunting
