    Default Rimfire optics?

Just got a Ruger 10/22 takedown.

Can anyone one recommend a rimfire optic under $100?

also, can I use a cross bow optic for the .22lr rifle?

    Thanks guys

I use plain 4x 32 rifle scopes on my rimfires. Simmons are like $30 bucks. They have plenty of power for head shots on tree rats out to 50 yds.

I love the BSA Sweet-17 scopes. Best under $100 for a .22. Adjustable objectives are a must for .22 LR, as you will often take shots well under 50 yards. Yes. I know BSA makes a Sweet-22 scope, but those are often harder to find and for some reason cost $20 more for the exact same optics. I don't use the drop compensation so it matters not if it is 17or 22.

I've also purchased some nice, older Made in Japan Tasco scopes, used, at various gun shops over the years for $15-$25. Way better scopes than the cheap $30 new Chinese junk

I'm assuming that its the standard 10/22 and not one of the target/match models and your looking to pink out to 50 or so yards.

I have a 4x32 Bushnell on my Marlin 25 that I got at Walmart for $30. I easily get quarter size groups at 50 yards. Groups out to 100 yards are 3-5 inches, but I think that is more the bargain basement bulk 22 rather than the scope or rifle.

Just ordered a Weaver 2x7 Rimfire scope from OpticsPlanet today. $140 but I haven't read a negative review on it. The smaller profile will keep the weight down on my 22.

My only suggestion is to look around abit before you buy your sub $100 optic. If your only going to plink... I mean honestly plink and thats it, no hunting no small game etc, etc. Then you can look at Simmons, BSA, etc.

I would strongly discourage you from spending any money on anything branded by NC Star, Barksa, or any other crappy chinese made junk. I know these seem reasonable but once you have a problem these companies turn into vaporware.

If your willing to spend abit more $$ there are several rimfire scopes that don't break the bank and aren't crap. Nikkon makes a prostaff rimfire that can be had for less then $150. And I believe Cabellas has a few rimfire optics that are pretty well made that are in the same ballpark.

Just bought a BSA sweet 22 scope from Dicks sporting goods for $59.95 and I love it! I am grouping 5 shots at 100yrds inside a quarter sized dot. And 5 shots at 50yrds inside a dime sized dot! Using a Savage mark II .22LR. The scope is also as clear as my $250.00 Nikon!

Don't see why you couldn't use the crossbow one. I know my Horton 175lb certainly has more of a jolt than my .22 does.
