    Default Making an avatar

    How do you make avatars?

Is there a program to use?

I received my avatar from a user in another forum and I was wondering how I could make my own, any thoughts?

It's mostly a matter of resizing an image to 80x80 (for this forum)

You can use just about any photo editing software to do the job or try the Power Toys for Windows Resizer! If you need some help, just ask! There are several folks here that can help, myself included...

I can shrink photos down to avatar size however I'm unsure how to put one together using different images.

Another software issue is I do not use windows. I am currently running Ubuntu 7.04 but I am sure there is plenty of debian files I could use.

    Use to shrink it down.

I am not a knowledgeable source at all for this.

I can't remember if it's preinstalled, but even if it's not, it's quick enough to install with the app manager -

GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is the best image manipulation program for Linux.

    Have fun!

GIMP is your best bet. It's in the repositories (just go to add/remove or use synaptic and search for GIMP). There are tons of tutorials out there for it, you should be able to find exactly what you need.
