How long did a response actually take for you? I filed by email hoping for a quicker response, but my hope is dwindling.
I'm guessing that e-mail is only going to buy you the day or so it takes snail mail to be delivered. Once they get them in the queue I would assume it's first come first serve.

Probably true. I was hoping the PDF version would automatically enter my information into computerized background checks and therefore not require an employee to manually go through my information for the checks. THAT would speed things up...but I doubt the state county is smart enough to be that efficient.

I'm betting someone just prints it out and adds it to the stack.

My card came last Saturday. I mailed my application back in late January. Picked up my license on Tuesday morning at about 11AM. There were 5 people ahead of me in line. The guy at the desk told me the line was much longer on Monday and that I had hit a good time and day.

Play it safe folks, CALL BEFORE you go down there. I went Monday after work(took off early), got down there just after noon only to find that the state's system was down(again). I got lucky tho, I stuck around for a bit and it came back up.

412-350-3045 don't call the 3044 number printed on your yellow card, you'll just get a recording.

I hate parking downtown so I'd take the bus.

Today on their website: Mar 20
CURRENTLY, THE PA FIREARMS PERMITS SYSTEM IS DOWN. THE COMMONWEALTH IS WORKING TO FIX THIS ISSUE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. HOWEVER, PERMITS WILL BE UNAVAILABLE FOR ISSUANCE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

    WE APOLOGIZE FOR THIS INCONVENIENCE.
