Re: Someone graffitied the abandoned motel...
Funny, I found an old picture of what the Sherelyn Motel used to look like back in the day. Actually looked pretty nice. A far cry of what it has become now. From the cars in the background to the attire worn by those in the picture, I'm guessing this image was taken late 60's, early 70's perhaps?

OH EM GEEE No fence around the pool, call teh lawyers!!!
It is interesting to look back at old pictures of buildings and business' in the area from those years. Places that you drive by now just look like a dump/dive used to be beautiful buildings with amazing landscaping and decor back when the resort business was "starting to boom" in the area."Freedom is our most precious commodity and if we are not eternally vigilant, government will take it all away. Individual freedom demands individual responsibility."

Re: Someone graffitied the abandoned motel...
I drive past the old Pocono hotel on rt 447 everyday, i see graffitis dating back to the 1960 and 1970's scrolled on it or when i go hunting i see old graffittis from the 1950's scrolled on Rocks makes you wonder how many "gangbangers" were out here in the 1950's and and 1960"s .
What did the Graffitti say? Did you take any pictures? You can tell what gang or ethnicity by what it says, thats why its called a "tag" like a label on a towel, and they know each others "signs" etc.
Some of them considers themselves to "artists" .

Re: Someone graffitied the abandoned motel...
Never really slowed down to take a close look. Maybe over the weekend I'll stop and snap a few pictures and post them here.
As for art, they can go buy some frakking canvas rather than deface an already ugly reminder of a bygone era. It's bad enough that the surrounding housing market is in the toilet. This kind of nonsense does nothing to improve the situation.Last edited by amstel78; February 25th, 2013 at 06:02 PM.
