Light on a shotgun
I'm looking to put a light on a 12 gage. Just wondering if the recoil poses any special problems. Any sugestions on brands or models that will work? I'd like to not break the bank, but I also don't want to replace bulbs every time I use it.

Re: Light on a shotgun
I had a Surefire 6P mounted on a Remington 870 12ga. for over two years. Never experienced any issues with recoil affecting the functionality of the light. Nice bright light as well. They have replacement tail caps to adapt to more of a weapon light role. I would recommend it for sure.

Re: Light on a shotgun
I have a pair of Streamlight TLR-1Ss on my 870 and 930. They've taken a serious beating over the years and keep going. I've broken a pair of Streamlight Polytacs and a Surefire G2X on my 870 so I don't mess around anymore. You can get a TLR-1S for about $100ish depending on where you buy it. Sure, some handheld lights will work but the TLR-1S costs pretty much the same, doesn't require a ring to mount it on and the controls are much easier to use than a multi function handheld. I've always hated those lights that require X number of clicks to do this and another couple of clicks for that, the TLR-1S is a lot more straight forward. I've heard good things about the CDM Gear MTR. It's designed specifically for the 590A1. I use a CDM Gear BMT on my 870 and it's a very high quality piece.
The MTR is toward the bottom.

Re: Light on a shotgun
Awsome video. Thanks, you sold me. I think when my Ar is done I'll get one for that too. I have a question though. WHen I was searching online, I found a TLR-1S and a TLR-1S HP. The HP says it "high powered" but I found it cheaper then the TLR-1S. Which do you have or reccomend?

My setup as mentioned earlier. Remington 870 Tactical with XS sighting system, Magpul fore end, Houge stock with short 12" LOP, TLR-1s on a small piece of Magpul pic rail.
