Exclamation Chicago pupils push for more gun control

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080401/...FY.1djFjlvzwcF

CHICAGO - Twenty desks — enough to fill a classroom — sat empty in a downtown plaza Tuesday, each bearing a pair of sneakers and representing a Chicago Public Schools student killed by gunfire this school year.

Several hundred more sat empty in city schools, as busloads of teens skipped classes to attend a gun-control rally — their absences sanctioned by the district, whose CEO says he's angry that too many students talk about "if" they grow up, instead of "when."

"This doesn't happen in other countries," Arne Duncan said. "We just value our right to bear arms more than we value our children, and our priorities are fundamentally backwards."

Since September, 20 students in the nation's third-largest school district have died in shootings. Last school year, 24 students were shot to death, compared with 10 to 15 in the years before...

Thats great the schools are teaching that these people were killed because of our right to bear arms.
Why is it too much for this country to place the blame where it belongs anymore and enforce our laws with the right types of punishment.

    Bingo Dave!!!!

As we move into the election cycle, the issue of gun control will come to the front eventually. Look at this as the first volly, with more to come!
We, as a community, need to be more active, earlier and LOUDER earlier to keep these "Nannies" from turing this nation into a Communist state!

What I want to really know, and I wish I had a time machine for this, is what in the world are they gonna do one day if they ban every weapon known to man and people are still killin each other?(probably over drugs but I can't go there because drugs are already illegal so they don't really exist)
