Stoeger Cougar 8045F / Holsters
Recently picked up a Stoeger Cougar 8045F. I have been looking for a holster for it but have found nothing specifically for it.
Before you go saying a holster for a Beretta Cougar 8045 will fit the Stoeger Cougar 8045F it will not. You are scratching your head. Well the Stoeger has an accessories rail while the Beretta model doesn't. I have contacted the likes of Crossbreed, Raven Concealment and Rays Holsters with no luck.
I'm coming to the conclusion that it's either find a universal holster that "works" or don't have one at all and not carry it. I don't have the skills or tools to create my own and don't want to expend the cash to do so.
I realize the Stoeger Cougar 8045F is a big handgun and may feel awkward to carry. But I'd like to try it out. Right now it's a dedicated HD handgun.

So does anyone have any ideas or know of any holsters that will work 100%? Leather or Kydex doesn't matter to me.Last edited by PA1936MN; February 14th, 2013 at 03:53 AM.

You did not specify leather or Kydex, but if you want a fine custom leather holster handmade, try www.simplyruggedholster.com , they will make one these for you for $60.

Re: Stoeger Cougar 8045F / Holsters
The railed Cougars are certainly odd balls when it comes to holsters, but I'd be willing to bet that they'd fit perfectly in a nylon or leather holster designed for a SIG P229R. Their dimensions are virtually identical:
Cougar
Length: 7.1"
Width: 1.5"
Height: 5.5"
P229R
Length: 7.1"
Width: 1.5"
Height: 5.4"

Re: Stoeger Cougar 8045F / Holsters
I have one of these http://www.midwayusa.com/product/781...-leather-black . It needed a slight remolding with water to fit the profile better and the tension screw works well with adjusting also. A Bianchi Black Widow #5 for a Sig 226 works with a little stretching also. Be aware that a Sig 229R holster is almost a perfect fit for a NON-railed Cougar and probably won't have enough room to stretch for a rail. Don't know though, haven't tried one. For a more universal holster a Bianchi 105 Minimalist size 13/15 works but it is really a non retention holster. Be aware this holster has a goofy rubber o ring strap as retention. Hope these help.

Re: Stoeger Cougar 8045F / Holsters
I tend to agree. For a 4" barreled single-stack pistol it would benefit from a sturdy holster. My 2 pistols are a full sized 1911 and XD45 Tactical, both of which I open carry. If I thought I was going to start CCing full time I would be looking for something smaller and lighter than the 8045.
You you are still having problems finding a good holster, have you tried the Beretta forum?
http://berettaforum.net/vb/While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.
