    Smile non resident permit

Hi I'm from Erie Cty in NY. I want to get a non resident ccp from Pa. I have a ccp from NY. I understand I have to personally apply. Would Erie Cty in Pa be a good option? And if so where in Erie so I can put an address in my GPS or I'll be lost forever. I would appreciate any help or advice you can give me. Twinkletoes

You must get your PA "permit" from a sheriff or in Phila., the police chief.

The PA sheriff contact info is listed here.

All are supposed to issue to qualified non-residents, but some might give you a hard time about it.

According to this outdated list: http://www.pafoa.org/counties the three closest PA counties to Erie Co. NY (Erie, McKean, Warren) all will issues a non resident PA LTCF.

thanks for the info. I plan on going to Erie. I'll let you know how I make out. If I was younger I'd leave NYS in a heartbeat.

At the top of this forum, there's a sticky for Erie county CCW (accurately called LTCF) click on it, print the form, and fill it out, to save time.
There's also the Sheriff's office 'site.

If you're asking what the requirements are for a non resident to get a PA LTCF... that person must have an equivalent carry permit/license from his home state, if that state does issue them.

How about if your state doesn't issue permits (NJ) but you have a non resident from another state (FL). I just found out that as of Feb 4, PA doesn't recognize my permit.

Technically New Jersey does issue a permit/license, albeit extremely difficult to obtain. So no, you can not get a PA license.
