    Default PAFOA/PMSC Group Shoot 1 of 4 for 2013

I will be taking over from cigarman.

Please note this is open to ALL PAFOA MEMBERS...

Members of PAFOA who are not also members of PMSC are not permitted to bring guests.

Only those who are forum members or PMSC members may attend.
Fees are $5.00 ,PMSC members are free.
ONLY THE 3 IPSC RANGES ARE OPEN TO PAFOA GROUP SHOOTERS, all other ranges are off limits to non PMSC club members unless a PMSC member signs you into the Guest book and pays the additional $5.00 after the shoot. All other ranges will be available to those who pay the $5.00 guest fee and are accompanied by a PMSC member. Please note that our guest policy has changed and is available for view at the sign in booth.

Anyone under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent.

Shoot runs from 10:00am till 1:00Pm

Official shoot safety briefing will be at 9:45am... conducted by an RO. PMSC Members should brief their guests on safety rules

When you enter the club property, go straight past the first building on left, through gate that will be open, bear right, head toward the large building on right.
Continue past building, you will see skeet/trap shooting area to your right, continue past that and road starts to go up a hill.
There is a sharp left turn before heading up a steep hill.(cars OK)
Continue to top. Some parking by the main range, or park along road near the top.

27hand would like to remind everyone
If any type of steel is being shot, I would like to emphasize that all shooters should have some type of ballcap on. I've seen and felt frags coming down and have been taught to always wear ball caps with bill forward to prevent shards of lead or jacket from getting between glasses and eyeballs.
This is your show so do what you like but I'd like to see basic safety (and reasoning why) addressed in the header without writing the proverbial book.

It's been a long time. I may try to make this one if the little one doesn't want to fish.

Marking my calendar and requesting to not be on call that weekend for work. Now if I can find a shop between now and then so I can get a gun to use and a few boxes of ammo, I'll be all set. If I can't participate I'll still show up to just watch as I have never been to an IPSC event.

I have always wanted to attend one of these. This may be the one.

Is there usually a nice turnout?

if you dont get a firearm, just bring some ammo and a lot of people (if you ask nicely) and show you know how to handle a gun will let you run ammo thru their weapon.

I would suggest you not bring lead or steel case ammo (ie wolf) ammo... some people prefer not to run that thru their weapon (more to clean after).

find some 9mm or 40 or 45 ammo or 223 etc in FMJ (full metal jacket) at walmart if you can find the stuff ;-)

I'll definitely try to make it. There were so many black rifles at the ones I went to last year, I'll bring my Garand to spice things up. Ping!

It would be a boring event if we all just shot our own guns; everybody shares. If you just come and say "I don't have a gun yet. I don't know what to buy; can I try yours?", everyone will be happy to let you shoot. It's a good opportunity to ask people what they like about each model. That way, you'll have a better idea what to buy.

    Ed,

I sent you an e-mail to your ed@estephan.net address to inform you that I changed the date of my April one day HG class from Apr 28 to Apr 27.

Since the PAFOA shoot wraps up at 1pm and the IDPA match runs until 3pm (on Sunday), I thought it less conflicting if I ran the one day class on the 27th.

Please be advised we will be running our one day HG class on the training bay on the 27th.

    Thanks.
