Just an update for anybody registering an SBR.

The ATF is no longer accepting abreviations for your name.

The name as it will appear on your reciever must be a full name.

    Accepted Example: Mark Anthony Doe
    Unaccepted Eaxmple: Mark A. Doe

Also there has been a change on caliber (line 4c).
You can no longer list "multi" or ".22 9mm 5.56"
They only want 1 caliber listed (your primary caliber)

I just had one returned to me 3 weeks ago, and I had to make those above changes to mine. Now it was returned to me again, but this time has a stamp attached to it.

I talked to a girl on the phone and she said they have a new document examiner ( I explained the template I followed while filling out my form1 from on here).
She said "yea, it was acceptable then, but is not now. Our new document examiner is very particular"

Just thought Id give you guys a heads up before you have to wait 2 extra weeks like I did.

Great......guess mine is gonna get kicked back. Sucks my full name won't fit on the front of the mag well or under the trigger guard, that's why I had it done near the FCG.....great...

    Thanks!

Yea, I told the girl "my buddy did his that way" refering to you. She asked, well how long ago was it and I told her a few years ago. She said yea thats the problem...... and then told me what I already wrote in my previous post.

But hey, I cant complain! Your template and description saved me the money of taking it to somebody to fill out ya know! Its a great baseline to work from for sure! The added 2 weeks didnt matter to me because I was out of town any way.

When I saw that first ATF letter in the mail I was goin nuts ya know.... *yay* I can finanally put it together! Then it was like they kicked me in the balls HAHA.

Thankfully their turn around time for "user error" is very fast

Thanks again for making this post, now I just have to wait for my new can to get approved!!!

And we've been updated! I still can't figure out how to make the editor do strike through text but I think I've got the update making sense.

    Enjoy everyone!

So, I was actually just using this for a guide last night while filling out my first Form 1 paperwork for an AR-15 SBR lower.

Problem is, I listed both ".22LR" and "5.56MM" in the caliber box.

My question is, can I simply whiteout the ".22LR" text and leave the 5.56MM?

Is that acceptable? Or should I start over again with a new Form 1?

If my memory serves me correctly, I don't think whiting out the ".22LR" will be an issue.

I could be wrong, but I don't think its a problem.

What knight said but the other option is to strike through it once and initial, that is what we do with medical documentation that need corrected or were miss wrote.

Another option would be to white out and then photo copy the papers and continue with the photo copy (if it hasn't been signed yet).

I can't say with 100% accuracy as I don't work for the BATFE NFA branch but I'm betting either would work.

+1. This is common practice for any type of legal documents. Strike through with your initial next to the strike through.
