Re: SBR'd AR15 - a brief guide and my experience
I wrote BATFE Form 1 for reason. I've done this for all Form 4 transfers I've done too.
I wrote in my employer info and address in appropriate spots. One might hypothesize that if you are student simply writing student in would be acceptable.

Re: SBR'd AR15 - a brief guide and my experience
Thanks for the info, it made my application for my SBR easy.
It took 11 weeks and no problems, I now have my AR-15 10.5 inch LEGAL.
Now I am registering my PS-90 as an SBR

Re: SBR'd AR15 - a brief guide and my experience
Thanks for the guide! Very helpful for my first time through.
On the print card block 'Occupation and Address'. I just went through this myself and called two different BATFE employees, and emailed them as well, to pose the question of "my occ and add, or what?" for the aforementioned block. All three sources answered with the same reply, the 'Occupation and Address' block should be filled in with the information of the person performing the finger prints. ie: Police Department and station address.
I was also told that the block is essentially ignored in the process and has no bearing on the acceptance of the print cards. So long as your name, address, social #, and prints are accurate, the cards will be accepted. This may be one of those non-issues, but figured I'd share what I learned this week.
Again, many thanks for this post.
Take care,
G.

Re: SBR'd AR15 - a brief guide and my experience
Great documentary!
I think the real question is: How did people know how to go about the process before the creation of the internet? I would have had no clue about how to acquire NFA weapons if it wasn't for the internet and this website.

Re: SBR'd AR15 - a brief guide and my experience
Glad it helped. I found the process to be a pain and at the time of it's writing there were no good walk through guides on how to do this.
Very good question! I would hypothesize that the info was passed person to person or via something like SAR or another publication.

Re: SBR'd AR15 - a brief guide and my experience
Quick question: If I already have a lower for an AR and want to put an SBR upper on it, do I have to fill out a form 4? Do I just fill out a form 1 and all the other stuff?

Re: SBR'd AR15 - a brief guide and my experience
So I actually just did that same process and I am awaiting my papers back. My check cleared like 6 weeks ago and still waiting (that number is the number to call and check on your status by the way....which I will never ever call!!! I have never talked to someone who hated being at their job so much!!!)
